How to reduce downtime in cell cultivation turnover.

When cultivating cells, you cannot ignore changing over the cells during turnover. If you could shorten the downtime during the turnover, you may be able to invest more in your research or experiments. The amount of time a scientist is able to spend in their research, experiments, and writing articles is said to be only about 645 hours*. Any time other than that, they are restrained by other tasks such as preparation and tiding up.

Day 1

Taking the cells, humidifying pan, and other internal parts out: Approx. 40 min
High heat sterilization: Approx. 720 min (Approx. 12 hours)

Day 2

Reinstalling the internal parts and adding water to the humidifying pan: Approx. 40 min
Calibrating the temperature/CO₂ concentration: Approx. 120 min (2 hours)

After starting the changeover of cell cultivation, you can finally recommence cultivating from the afternoon of Day 2.
The total time it took over the last 2 days is approximately 920 minutes (15.3 hours)*.
This 15.3 hours × the amount you need to cultivate, is what may be reducing your productivity in your lab.
