Our -86°C ultra-low temperature freezers, also known as ULT freezers or ultra-cold freezers, have a field-proven history of reliability and uniformity. All PHCbi brand ultra-low temperature freezers are designed to meet or exceed the requirements necessary for reliable, long-term storage of samples. Performance of all our ultra-cold freezers is measured by overall temperature, stability in high ambient settings, recovery following routine door openings and reproducibility of internal conditions in real-world settings.

VIP ECO Series ultra-cold freezers have earned a worldwide reputation for dependable performance in demanding environments where critical materials must be preserved for generations. They are engineered from the inside out to create and maintain precise temperatures for optimal storage and reliable operation. Next-generation engineering harnesses the power of inverter compressor technology to yield greater temperature uniformity. Reserve refrigeration power delivers fast temperature recovery following door openings.
The VIP ECO Series includes the VIP ECO SMART, our most advanced ultra-low temperature freezer to date and winner of the 2023 ISBER Outstanding New Product of the Year Award (model MDF-DU703VH/VHA-PA). The VIP ECO SMART combines next-generation engineering with SMART control technology to provide a ULT that is energy efficient and has enhanced security and operation. The VIP ECO SMART uses up to 30% less energy than other leading ENERGY STAR Certified freezers.1
The VIP ECO combines field-proven reliability, natural refrigerants, and innovative cabinet design to improve performance and to help achieve facility sustainability objectives. The series includes ENERGY STAR Certified upright models as well as energy-efficient and compact, chest models.
Natural refrigerants reduce environmental impact without jeopardizing ultra-low temperature freezer performance.2

FrostLess Series Ultra-Low Temperature Freezers
The PHCbi brand FrostLess upright ultra-low temperature freezer is engineered to mitigate frost buildup more than our category-leading ULT models while maintaining the reliability and energy efficiency that today's laboratories require.
FrostLess ultra-low temperature freezers use an all-new thermal insulation design to reduce frost buildup on inner doors, reducing stress on the outer door and latch mechanism. This improves ULT freezer efficiency, long-term performance, and reduces maintenance requirements while improving energy efficiency.
The PHCbi brand FrostLess ULTs also use the innovative door closure system, the EZlatch, designed to tolerate frequent door openings, simplify one-handed access, and control frost associated with extreme temperature differentials.
VIP Plus insulation and adaptive warming of the door seal greatly reduce frost buildup.3

TwinGuard Series Ultra-Low Temperature Freezers
TwinGuard Series ultra-low temperature freezers elevate the level of protection using a redundant cooling system design, which provides advanced protection of samples by functioning independently and simultaneously. Each cooling system uses single compressor auto-cascade configurations to provide uniformity and stability regardless of high ambient temperatures.

The TwinGuard refrigeration system is compromised of two independent auto-cascade circuits managed by an electronic controller.
