VIP ECO Products
VIP ECO Series
The VIP ECO Series ultra-low temperature freezers represent an advance in refrigeration technology and cabinet design required to minimize energy consumption while maintaining a safe, uniform and stable ultra-low environment for life forms. Together with new refrigeration platform based on variable speed inverter compressors and sophisticated control algorithms, the VIP ECO freezer successfully uses of natural refrigerants essential to global sustainability without compromising cooling performance.
VIP ECO freezers include Advanced Frost Control and an EZLatch door design ultimately essential to better energy efficiency in real-world conditions and are available in three cabinet sizes.
Performance and Reliability
Reliable Cooling and Temperature Performance
The robust refrigeration system provides dependable cooling and temperature performance through the PHC engineered heat transfer components and time tested natural refrigerants. Reserve refrigeration power assures exceptionally fast temperature recovery following door openings. Performance and reliability are never compromised when it comes to storing your valued samples.
Energy Efficient, Balanced Power
Smart compressors, natural refrigerants and integrated electronics combine to lower your facility’s operating costs. Freezer operation is managed by the practical balance of temperature performance and energy management.
Cascade Reliability
The PHCbi cascade refrigeration platform is based on high-performance compressors designed by PHC specifically for ultra-low temperature applications. The PHCbi cascade system is used on VIP Series upright freezers for temperature storage preferences within a range of -50°C to -86°C. These ULT lab freezers use two compressors in a cascade sequence. Both systems work together, running on uniquely designed refrigeration compressors designed to cool themselves as they operate to achieve ultra-low temperatures.

Ergonomic Design
Opening the door of an ultra-low temperature freezer is not an insignificant event. Due to extreme temperature differentials, users should know the location of stored product inside the freezer to minimize the duration of the door opening. Best practices lead to better chamber uniformity, faster recovery of setpoint temperature and overall longer freezer life as a result of reduced strain.
The PHCbi Advanced Frost Control System
The Advanced Frost Control System is a combination of nine individually engineered components, designed to work together to minimize frost, protect contents and extend freezer life.
1. The Outer Door
The outer door is insulated and mounted on heavy duty oval fastened hinges to permit adjustment throughout the life of the freeer.
2. EZlatch Door Handle
The patent pending PHCbi door handle spans an arc of 45 degrees in total movement for easy operation. The EZlatch is included as a standard feature on the PHCbi VIP ECO -86°C / -80°C Laboratory Freezer Series.
3. Security
The EZlatch includes an integral lock and a provision for a secondary padlock to restrict access.
4. Mullion Heater
Refrigeration system heat output is diverted to the non-temperature conduction extrusion to resist heat moisture accumulation which can cause frost and ice build-up.
5. Air Space
The outer door design minimizes trapped ambient air between the outer door and inner doors.
6. Inner Doors
Insulated inner doors with gaskets minimize cold air loss during door openings.
7. Heat Breaks
To minimize frost and protect the cabinet seal, all materials at the door/cabinet interface are engineered to reduce passive heat transmission from the outside to the inside and to diminish cold surfaces in contact with moist, ambient air.
8. Gasket Integrity
The outer door gasket is engineered to provide and extra measure of protection from the severe temperature gradient between the room and the chamber interior. A soft durometer gasket creates a multi-point sequence of air pockets to enhance insulation value when the door is closed.
9. Vacuum Relief
The automatic vacuum relief port equalizes pressure and permits the outer door to be opened easily for quick re-entry.
