On 24 August 2024, PT PHC Indonesia held a “ONE DAY NO GADGET” activity initiated by the Kartini Team that consists of 18 female employees, as a form of the Company's contribution to the education and the development of employees' children, as it is well understood that the rapid development of gadgets has a negative impact on the growth and the social interaction of children.
This time, the “ONE DAY NO GADGET” activity was limited to 35 children of the employees, aged 3 to 8 years old. The event was attended by the Company's leaders, board of directors, and managers.
During the activity, children were asked to not touch gadgets. The children then took part in a series of activities that had been prepared, including listening to a fairy tale (hand puppet show) delivered by Mr. Mochamad Khaidir Rachman (or better known as Kak Faqih) where the content of the story was in line with the theme of the event, playing traditional games, decorating cupcakes guided by Ms. Citra Paramitha Andarina, and ended with tree planting activities involving parents and children.
As for the parents, a parenting seminar was held with the Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychologist Ms. Amalina Salsabil, M. Psi. as the speaker. The purpose of this seminar was to gain a better understanding of the influence and dangers of gadgets for children, as well as strategies to overcome said negative impacts.
It is hoped that this activity could lend a hand in increasing awareness and broaden the knowledge of employees as parents in wisely managing the use of gadgets for their children. And for children, it is hoped that this activity can foster their spirit to advance, be creative, be independent, have the care for society, as well as to have respect for others. Not only that, it is also hoped that this activity can foster awareness and love for the environment.
