TOKYO, May 21, 2021 - PHC Corporation (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Kyoji Morimoto, hereafter PHC) has today launched in Japan its WellsPort Analytics solution*1, a Health and Productivity Management support system. The system helps to improve individual employee health, as well as supporting company programs for health and productivity management, by using integrated employee health data to analyze and visualize health issues.
Against the current backdrop in Japan of a shrinking workforce due to a lower birthrate and aging population, alongside increasing medical expenses, companies are promoting initiatives for health and productivity management to extend the nation’s healthy life expectancy. In particular, to address health problems caused by changes in lifestyle and work environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic, companies are increasingly choosing to invest in employee health improvement programs as a way to revitalize their organizations and enhance productivity. This requires new solutions that support health and productivity management so that companies can accurately assess employee health conditions and implement effective measures for health issues.
The new WellsPort Analytics service provides one-stop management for a company’s various sources of employee health data, and visualizes the resulting health issues by analyzing the available data. Employee check-up data, stress-check results and attendance records are often managed individually in companies. Using WellsPort Analytics, these data sources will be consolidated to provide integrated management, enable analysis with various analytical methods, and help to graphically visualize information about individual health conditions for each part of a business. The system not only helps to determine the causes of productivity declines and identify substantial health issues, but it can also assess the effectiveness of measures that have been applied to solve the problems. Through these features, the system supports companies to implement health and productivity management to enhance employee health and productivity. The system also contributes to improving the quality of life of people in Japan by promoting prevention and early diagnosis of lifestyle-related diseases.
PHC is a Japanese subsidiary of PHC Holdings Corporation, a healthcare company that develops, manufactures, sells, and services solutions across diabetes management, life sciences and diagnostics globally, as well as providing healthcare solutions in Japan. The newly launched WellsPort Analytics aims to enhance the health management solutions that are available from the Medicom*2 brand domestic healthcare IT business.
Takayuki Otsuka, Corporate Officer and co-head of the Healthcare Solutions Domain of PHC Holdings Corporation says, “In our healthcare IT business, we are not only focused on healthcare IT systems for streamlining healthcare professionals’ workflow, we have also been working to expand our health management solutions for employees working in enterprises and health insurance associations, such as the WellsPort Navi*3 that supports employees’ health awareness activities and the Specific Health Guidance support system known as WellsPort Step*4. We expect that by analyzing various sources of health data, the new WellsPort Analytics will help to create work environments that enable employees to maintain healthy minds and bodies, therefore contributing to the sustainable growth of a company. As we aim to become the leading provider of best-in-class precision and digital solutions in Japan’s healthcare sector, we will continue to adapt quickly to the changing needs of society. We want to provide new solutions that lead to disease prevention and improved quality of life, and can contribute towards achieving a socio-economic system that will help extend healthy life expectancy for people in Japan.”
