As a producer of industrial batteries under the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009, we PHC Europe B.V. , in the UK produce small quantities (less than one Tonne) of Lead Acid and Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. We are obliged to take back, waste industrial batteries supplied to an end user for free of charge treatment and recycling. We are required to do this in any calendar year we place new industrial batteries on the market.
If any of our customers or end users in the UK, have no re-cycling system in place already and require us to take back Industrial batteries related to our products, they should contact us at biomedical.uk@eu.phchd.com. We will inform you of the necessary arrangements for the return, proper treatment and recycling of the waste industrial batteries. We are not however, obliged to pay transportation costs for the return of any batteries, all costs to return the batteries are at the customer’s own expense and returned batteries will need to be accompanied with a decontamination certificate.
